‘True Detective’ Casts Stephen Dorff in Season 3

HBO‘s True Detective announced today that is has chosen Stephen Dorff to play Mahersala Ali’s co star in the series’ third season.

Stephen Dorff has been cast to play an Arkansas State Investigator Roland West in the next edition of the HBO drama.

West will be similar to Wayne Hays in that they are both in the midst of a crime ridden world full of strange murder cases and disappearances in Southern California.

We can expect to see the previously cast Oscar winning Ali as well as Carmen Ejogo and Amelia Reardon. Nic Pizzolatto will remain as series showrunner and writer. Season 3 will be set in the Ozarks.

You may recognize Dorff from The Power of One, Immortals, and Blade. In the early days of his career he appeared on shows like Roseanne, Blossom, and Married With Children.

The premiere date of season three of True Detective remains unknown.
