Robbie Amell to Star in Amazon’s Comedy Pilot ‘Upload’
Robbie Amell has found his next role!
According to Deadline, Amell has landed the lead role in Amazon’s pilot comedy called Upload hailing from The Office creator Greg Daniels. The series is a high-concept single-camera comedy set in a future world where, after humans die, they are able to upload themselves into whatever their preferred choice of the afterlife might be.
Amell’s character is Nathan, a young man who succumbs to an untimely death. The series will follow Nathan as he meets a companion named Nora after uploading himself into his chosen afterlife. Nathan has to learn how to “live” in his new world while Nora is just trying to get by in the day-to-day world.
Amell has previously starred as Ronnie Raymond (Firestorm/Deathstorm) on The Flash and played Stephen Jameson on The Tomorrow People. He has also appeared in the most recent season of The X-Files on Fox and Netflix’s The Babysitter.
Amell expressed his excitement for the upcoming role in Upload via Twitter on Wednesday. He said, “One of my favorite scripts ever. Really excited to be a part of this. Wooo!!”
