Throwback Thursday: Favorite ‘Friends’ Thanksgiving Moments

Happy Thanksgiving! For this week’s Throwback Thursday we are going to look back at some of our favorite moments from the Thanksgiving episodes from Friends. These moments were standout scenes that encompass what the holiday is all about; family, friends, and hilarious laughter!

Favorite Moment 5 and 4: “The One With the Rumor” (Season 9)

The episode had 2 of our favorite moments. The first being the guest star, Brad Pitt, who portrays an old high school friend who joins the crew for Thanksgiving dinner. It becomes quickly apparent that he does not care for Rachel because of the way she treated him way back when. His performance and disdain for the popular Rachel Green were entertaining especially at the dinner table when he reveals that they co-founded the ‘I Hate Rachel Club.”

The second great moment was Joey attempting to finish the entire turkey because he begged Monica to make it even though she wasn’t planning on it. Try as he might, he runs into some difficulty because well, “Jeans have no give!” He goes back to his apartment to remedy that and returns with his “Thanksgiving pants” which are actually Phoebe’s maternity pants. His determination and appetite helped him achieve his goal.

Favorite Moment 3: “The One Where Ross Got High” (Season 6)

Following a recipe can be difficult, but for Rachel, she follows it to the letter even though the pages folded and melded two recipes into one. Her trifle dessert ends up becoming a part ‘traditional English’ trifle and part shepherd’s pie. The gang does their best to tiptoe around actually eating the final result and poor Rachel doesn’t understand why. We have to give them credit for at least attempting it for the sake of their cooking-challenged friend!

Favorite Moment 2:”The One with the Football” (Season 3)

The friendly game of football pits girls against boys and brother against sister. The game gets pretty intense as each team tries to beat the other side. Monica even goes as far as to tackle Chandler. There are some epic touchdown dances and a couple interesting plays. The episode has some great jokes and eventually ends with Monica and Ross duking it out for the ball into the night, while the rest of the team enjoy dinner back at the apartment.

Favorite Moment 1: “The One with the Thanksgiving Flashbacks” (Season 5)

The dancing turkey is an image that will forever be one of our favorite moments. Watching Monica walk around with the turkey on her head, with the hat and those over-sized glasses gave us some of the best laugh-out-loud memories. We loved it when she shook her booty right into Chandler’s apartment and he blurted out, “You are so great. I love you.”
