Michael B. Jordan continues to impress audiences and critics on camera and now he will have the opportunity to do so behind one as well. Deadline has confirmed that Jordan will be taking on an adaption of David Barclay Moore’s novel The Stars Beneath Our Feet. He will write the script, serve as an executive producer and will be making his directorial debut.
The Stars Beneath Our Feet “follows a 12-year-old whose older brother died months earlier in a gang-related shooting. The Harlem youth uses his imagination and Legos to navigate the road ahead.”
The story is one that really spoke to Jordan and his impressive resume of on-screen credits have lent him a helping hand due to the many talented directors he’s been able to work with over the years.
“Directing has been an area I’ve wanted to explore for some time now. The Stars Beneath Our Feet tells a story that really spoke to me, and I’m looking forward to jumping behind the camera. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some very smart and talented directors and it inspired me to take on this new challenge.”
In addition to The Stars Beneath Our Feet, it was also recently announced that Jordan will be serving as an EP and starring in a new Netflix series titled Raising Dion. These are just a couple more projects to tack onto Jordan’s already packed 2018. Fans can expect to see Jordan in the upcoming Black Panther film, HBO’s Farenheit 451, and he will also be stepping back in the ring for Creed 2, which will be directed by Sylvester Stallone.
