‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason Finale Will Be Super-Sized!

Even though we are only 3 episodes into season 8 of The Walking Dead so far, the midseason finale will be here before you know it and it’s going to be a biggie!

According to Comicbook.com, the episode is set to air on December 10th and is currently slotted for a whopping 88-minute runtime as opposed to the typical 60 minutes.  The episode will start at its typical 9 PM EST start time and run until 10:28 PM with Talking Dead to air immediately following the episode.

When taking into consideration the time allotted for commercials during a standard episode, fans typically only get approximately 45 minutes of actual show.  With the midseason finale being super-sized for your viewing pleasure, this means fans will be treated to about a full hour’s worth of Walking Dead goodness!

Season 8’s action-packed all-out war storyline focuses on the rising conflict between Rick and Negan.  We’ve already seen some extra intense episodes and, each week, the season is only building up more and more suspense.  Showrunner Scott M. Gimple has already confirmed that the all-out war storyline will be completed within the 8th season but it’s doubtful that this will happen before the midseason finale.

With that being said,  the midseason finale might be a rough one for fans!  The episode will be directed by executive producer and makeup master Greg Nicotero.  Throughout the history of the series, Nicotero has been tasked with directing some of the most monumental and emotional episodes so, start preparing now!

New episodes of The Walking Dead air Sundays at 9 PM EST on AMC.   What do you think of the season so far?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
