‘IT’ DVD and Blu-Ray will have 15 minutes of Extra Footage

Didn’t get enough of Stephen King’s IT when it come out in theaters? That’s okay, we didn’t either. The good news for all of us – the DVD release will have 15 minutes of extra footage when it hits DVD and Blu-Ray at the end of this year.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies, director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti revealed that they have been asked by Warner Bros to work on a director’s cut of the best selling Stephen King adaptation.

Andy noted that they had longer cuts of the movie planned and filmed during the production process, before cutting it down to its current form.

“There’s a great scene, it’s a bit of a payoff of the Stanley Uris plot which is the bar mitzvah, where he delivers a speech against all expectations. It’s basically blaming all the adults of Derry and it has a great resolution.”

In addition to this, the extended cut will also feature a “very funny” scene that takes place when the Losers’ Club are all plucking up the courage to jump from a cliff into the water.

“After the spitting contest, it escalates into something that is completely weird and irrelevant to the scene but it is so funny. Jack Grazer, who plays Eddie, does something that is completely bonkers,”

As long as it is more IT content, we are totally game.

IT will arrive on Digital HD and Amazon Video on November 21, 2017. The DVD release is slated for some time in January 2018.
