Ellen DeGeneres Terrifies Sam Smith Twice with a Ghostly Prank

Sam Smith is one of our absolute favorites and we can’t say enough how glad we are that his new album is just on the horizon. His first single, Too Good At Goodbyes is one of those songs you can listen to over and over and never get sick of, and we have a feeling the rest of his album will be too.

Another thing we love about Sam is his honesty, especially in interviews. He says what he means and he doesn’t question himself. So when we found out he was going to be on the Ellen show, we were thrilled.

While the entire interview was great as Sam discussed everything from his music to the Oscar controversy in 2016, there were a couple of occasions that had the audience and fans at home in stitches.

As Sam was talking about the house he lives in, and how it’s haunted, Ellen was planning something epic. First, he talked about how the house is 300 years old and how he feels like ghosts are inside of it. His sister frequently gets scared but he feels like he’s got a good relationship with them. So much so that if he’s ever just tired or not in the mood to deal with the spirits – he simply asks them to leave him alone.

We aren’t sure we’d have that kind of luck, but it seems to be working for him.

As he continued to discuss these ghosts and how he’s not afraid of them, Ellen scared him twice in the span of a few seconds. Funny enough, the people who assisted in her prank were dressed as ghosts.

So maybe that relationship is only valid with his ghosts at his haunted home.
