Norman Reedus Says Daryl is “Ready to Kill Everybody” in Season 8 of ‘The Walking Dead’

Norman Reedus is not holding back when it comes to dishing on season 8 details relating to his character on The Walking Dead.  Reedus has already teased that Daryl Dixon would be “going rogue” in season 8 but now, it seems, that he is also taking no prisoners.  In season 7, Daryl was captured and tortured by the saviors but, in season 8, he’s on a mission to take out anyone who’s harmed his friends.  Reedus told Entertainment Weekly:

“He’s just got revenge on his mind this year.  He’s ready to kill everybody, no matter what the group says, no matter what anybody says. He’s just like, ‘Nah, screw it. Everybody dies.’ He’s very focused on revenge.”

This is definitely a side of Daryl that we haven’t seen, probably since the very first season.  His character has evolved over the past 8 years and has become reformed and a team player, however, it certainly sounds like he’s reverting back to his reckless roots.  Could we finally have the old Daryl back?  Reedus went on to speak about how the upcoming season, as a whole, reverts back to the old feel of the early episodes:

“Season 8 feels like our old show again.  The people I like working with the most are the ones I’m working with again. The gang’s back together. The fight’s back in it.  Last year was so rough. It didn’t feel like our show and I know it is our show, and you’ve got to do stuff like that, but last year felt so disconnected. Everyone was so disconnected in the core group. So it feels like it used to feel again which is really exciting.”

Ahhh!  This certainly is exciting to hear.  The old band is back together and they are ready to fight Negan and the saviors.  Fans can also find comfort in the fact that showrunner Scott M. Gimple confirmed the all-out war storyline will not only kick into high gear this season but, it will ultimately finish this season as well.  No cliffhangers.  No slow and disjointed story development.

Get ready, Walking Dead fans!  Season 8 is promising a ton of action and we can’t wait to see it!  Season 8 of The Walking Dead kicks off on Sunday (TODAY!) with an explosive 100th episode at 9 PM EST on AMC.  Are you ready for war?
