Nielsen Social Ratings: October 18, 2017
Day 2 of Nielsen Social Ratings Daily!
Wednesday nights for TV social media don’t seem quite as busy but have a more evenly distributed number of interactions among the top 5. Taking the top spot is Fox’s Empire. The musical drama scored 300,000 interactions from 172,000 unique social media accounts across Twitter and Facebook. Empire‘s primetime partner, Star, took the number five spot with 67,000 interactions.
The CW’s sophomore surprise, Riverdale, earned the number three spot. The Archie adaptation, which scored its second-best overnight ratings this week, garnered 241,000 interactions from 77,000 unique social media accounts.
The number two and number four spots were taken by live television, with CNN Debate Night take the former spot and CMT Artist of the Year 2017 taking the latter spot.
Wednesday shows that didn’t make the top 5 this week: Criminal Minds, Survivor, and Speechless.
As a Refresher: The Content Ratings use the total number of social interactions across Facebook and Twitter to rank the top 5 series/specials and sporting events, separately. The chart includes uniques, which are “unique social media accounts that have authored original content related to a linear TV episode or engaged with that content,” and interactions, which are “original social media posts related to a linear TV episode and the engagement with that content.”
