Did Michael Cudlitz Just Tease Abraham Ford as the ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and ‘The Walking Dead’ Crossover Character?

During The Walking Dead panel last weekend at New York Comic Con, Robert Kirkman dropped some pretty huge news for fans.  After years of speculation, Kirkman officially confirmed that the two Walking Dead universes will be colliding!  Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead will finally see a crossover episode but, in what capacity?

During the panel, Kirkman said, “I’ll say this: there is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name.”  He then followed up by saying that more information will be released in the upcoming months.  Kirkman’s announcement was made “internet official” when The Walking Dead Twitter account posted some new teaser art depicting the crossover:

The announcement was a bit of a shocker.  Especially considering that just months before both Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Dave Erickson and the Walking Dead star Michael Cudlitz commented on how a crossover event would not work.  It appears that the Dead universe is going to give it a go regardless.

With the announcement confirmed, the Walking Dead fans set off to do what they do best – create fan theories.  Which character would be involved in this epic crossover event?  As fans began to theorize, it’s possible that we may have gotten our first clue as to who the crossover character might be.

As it turns out, mere hours after the most anticipated panel at New York Comic Con took place, Michael Cudlitz, who played Abraham Ford on The Walking Dead, tweeted out a cryptic and mysterious message.  The tweet, shown below, simply said, “Crazy sh– is about to go down.  See y’all on the other side.”

No additional context was given as to what the tweet meant however, The Walking Dead fandom thinks they’ve figured it out.  Abraham Ford, a series fan favorite who outlived his timeline from the comics but who suffered a death many fans felt was unjustified.  Could Abraham be brought back to life on an episode of Fear the Walking Dead?

There are some details from the current season of Fear the Walking Dead that make this crossover plausible.  Remember that, when Fear the Walking Dead started, it was set in a time just prior to the start of the apocalypse which makes it a predecessor series to The Walking Dead.  Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead shows the survivors currently in Mexico but, they are heading north.  If they head north into, say Texas, then it’s plausible that they could meet up with Abraham who lived in the state just prior to the apocalypse outbreak.

Could Abraham still be in Texas and could he meet up with Madison, Strand, Nick and the rest of the Fear survivors?  What do you think?  Which character do you think will be featured in a crossover episode between The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead?  Let us know your fan theories in the comment section below!
