New Look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in ‘Justice League’ Featurette

We’re less than a month away until DC’s Justice League hits theaters and we can’t wait to see this film in all its glory.  Until its release date comes around, we’ll have to settle for some pretty cool trailers and featurettes which are making their way around the internet.

On Thursday, AT&T released a brand new look at everyone’s favorite King of the Seas, Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa.  The new featurette touches on the character’s origins, finding his place within the Justice League and also gives some behind the scenes details from Momoa himself.

“He comes from two different worlds.  He’s half man half Atlantean.  He is the heir to the throne of Atlantis, but he’s not the king yet,” Momoa explains in the featurette clip.

The clip features what appears to be some new film footage, perhaps from before Aquaman joins up with the Justice League.  Aquaman can be seen underwater without his armor swimming through what we think is Atlantis.  If you look closely at the footage, a trident is shown next to him so, perhaps this is moments before he suits up to join the League.

Shortly after this clip is shown, Momoa can be heard saying, “When he finds his place in the Justice League, that’s when he can really put his skills to use.”

In addition to the new footage, we also see a quick shot of Mera (played by Amber Heard) and two other Atlanteans swimming in their underwater world.

In one part of the clip, Momoa dishes on one of his favorite parts in the film.  “One of my favorite things to film is when I jumped on the Batmobile,” Momoa said. “It’s badass. I was like “I can’t believe I’m surfing the Batmobile right now.”  Fans are treated to that totally awesome scene in this featurette as well.

Check out the full Aquaman featurette below.  Justice League starring Momoa, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher will hit theaters on November 17th.  Aquaman will splash into theaters in December 2018.
