Fan Fest Picks: Top 5 Episodes of ‘Legends of Tomorrow’

Legends of Tomorrow has certainly won over DC fans across the world in this spectacular CW superhero team-up television series. In about a week, we will finally get to see where our Legends stand in the Season 3 premiere. In celebration of the show’s third season, fellow Arrowverse Expert Alyssa and I have decided to join forces and count down the 5 best episodes of Legends of Tomorrow.

5. “Star City 2046” (Season 1, Episode 6)

(Alyssa)

Alyssa: The Legends end up in the future and see what Star City has become, which isn’t good. This is an interesting episode as it’s the first time that there’s any clear indication of how things could go. It was cool to see future versions of Green Arrow, Deathstroke, and Oliver.

“The Magnificent Eight” (Season 1, Episode 11)

(Jules)

Jules: Not gonna lie, it was incredibly awesome to see our Legends take on the wild, wild west. Also, how could I not be excited at the appearance of Jonah Hex?? I also found it incredibly interesting when Kendra met her past self. Really, really cool take on the Hawkgirl/Hawkman storyline.

4. “Aruba” (Season 2, Episode 17)

(Alyssa)

Alyssa: This is an incredibly emotionally-charged season finale. The Legends messed up and are trying to fix it, no matter what. This episode also highlights the incredible acting as most have to share a scene with themselves. We get a great fight scene and the moment we’ve been waiting for as Sara and Laurel (kinda) reunite.

“Legendary” (Season 1, Episode 16)

Jules: Following the death of Captain Cold, it was so sweet and moving at how closely everyone bonded together to stop Savage. This wasn’t your typical everyone against one guy fight, I really liked how they split the Legends up into pairs – fighting different Savage’s at different time periods. I also love how Rex Tyler dropped in (literally) for the finale, setting the stage for Season 2.

3. “Destiny” (Season 1, Episode 15)

(Alyssa)

Alyssa: The Legends are in a tight spot and we have an omen of Ray’s death. This episode highlights Mick and the light that is way down deep inside. The final moments in the oculus bring out the best in our two bad boys, unfortunately resulting in Leonard’s death. It was a shock that he was the one to take the fall for the team. He is still greatly missed.

“Legion of Doom” (Season 2, Episode 10)

Jules: While everyone enjoys a great Superhero Team-Up, we gotta save some love for the villains. ‘Legion of Doom’ was pretty epic. I especially loved the bantering back and forth between Damian and Malcolm. John Barrowman and Neal McDonough worked incredibly well together. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who was cheering when we saw Eobard and Damian recruit Malcolm for the legion!

2. “Doomworld” (Season 2,

Episode 16)

(Alyssa & Jules)

Alyssa: The bad guys won, and it was interesting to see how they re-imagined reality. My favorite thing is that we get the evil duo of Sara and Amaya, Felicity as a vigilante, Nate’s terrible hair, and his mom’s amazing sandwiches. I enjoy getting to see different versions of characters, so that’s why I liked this episode so much. Plus, we get to see Mick come back to the light and correct his mistake.

Jules: This episode was just pure gold. At first when the episode started and I saw Sara and Amaya chasing around a mysterious figure, I was completely blown away at the fact that it was Felicity. I thought that it was an incredibly cool twist to the story. I also enjoyed an good old fashion Snart/Mick reunion. Classy!

1. “Out of Time” (Season 2, Episode 1)

Alyssa: This episode is the epitome of the show. We have the Legends running around and screwing things up, but somehow saving the day. The opening with them in France is one of my favorite sequences and it is just so funny. Someone who may not have watched Season 1 would probably get just from that scene the essence of the show. I also love the montage of Mick and Nate rescuing the team throughout time.

“Raiders of the Lost Art” (Season 2, Episode 9)

Jules: Two words. Well, one name to be exact. George Lucas. I found this episode incredibly amazing and thrilling at the fact that Star Wars was tied into this. It was also absolutely hilarious to see Nate and Ray lose their intelligence because the Legion of Doom terrified George Lucas and resulted in him quitting school. The chemistry amongst the team in this episode was also delightful!

Honorable Mention:

“Pilot, Part 2” (Season 1, Episode 2)

Legends of Tomorrow will premiere it’s third season on Tuesday, October 10th at 9PM/EST on The CW.
