When Netflix announced that they’d be introducing a series for The Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, fans were immediately excited. We already knew he could play the role well, in fact, we’ve been hoping to see more of him as the character, and we got it.
From the Twitter account interactions to promo video, gifs, and photos – Bernthal and the team at Netflix are taking this series seriously, and the fans are too. People are lining up to catch some of Castle’s snark on Twitter and he’s ready to give it out.
However, there’s also the very broken side of Castle that isn’t so much highlighted, but when the light does shine on it, it really breaks your heart. Especially in a promo video that was released on the social media accounts for The Punisher just days ago.
Castle looks broken as memories flash on the screen behind him, seemingly from his memory as he tries to overcome what wears him down. However, he’s still chasing revenge and until he’s able to make sense of the tragedy that brought him such despair, he won’t be able to move forward.
Even if ‘making sense’ of the tragedy means taking the lives into his own hands.
