Tom Petty Passes Away at the Age of 66
Tom Petty has died at the age of 66.
The singer, most known for being a key member of the band Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, was rushed to hospital by paramedics after going into cardiac arrest. He was later placed on life support.
A statement from Tony Dimitriade (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers manager) was later published on Petty’s social media accounts on the behalf of his loved ones, confirming earlier reports that he has sadly passed away.
The musical icon was an inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside his close friend and ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’ collaborator, Stevie Nicks.
The Heartbreakers took the music scene by storm in the late 70s, with hits under their name that include: ‘American Girl’ and ‘I Won’t Back Down.’
