Tom Welling Weighs in on the Possibility of a ‘Flash’ Appearance
Tom Welling rose to stardom playing a young Clark Kent/Superman on The CW’s (back then known as The WB) Smallville until its series finale ten seasons later in 2011. After that, the actor dropped off the Hollywood grid, playing supporting roles in only a few films such as 2013’s Parkland, 2014’s Draft Day, and 2016’s The Choice. However, Welling is making his return to television this year in the third season of FOX’s Lucifer – premiering October 2nd – as Lieutenant Marcus Pierce; a role the actor was more than eager to accept seeing as he’s been a fan since the beginning.
While at an event for FOX’s Fall TV lineup, Welling revealed that although his long break from television was intentional due to the popularity of Smallville and the character, he’d be open to guest starring on another superhero series, The Flash, if he and its producers can see eye to eye. “I am willing to go on The Flash and I have a few ideas on how it can happen if the network asks me. In fact, I think I can make it happen,” he said.
In addition to Smallville, Welling’s other popular projects include Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, and The Fog.
