First Critical Reaction to ‘Blade Runner: 2049’ Is Nothing But Positive
Audiences planning to see Blade Runner 2049 next weekend may be pleased to know that critics are praising the film, calling it “mindblowing”, “breathtaking”, and “gorgeous”. The sequel – which takes place 30 years after the first – stars Ryan Gosling as new blade runner K who seeks out Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard for help after he unearths a secret that could lead what’s left of society into chaos. Despite his positive review, however, Collider’s Steven Weintraub cautions audiences not to read any reviews before seeing Blade Runner. “Blade Runner 2049 is absolutely loaded with spoilers. Even the plot of the film is a spoiler. If you are going to see it, avoid reviews,” he tweets.
Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters next Friday, October 6th.
