New ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ Trailer Levels Up the Fun and Action

We’ll admit it.  We weren’t totally onboard with the new Jumanji reboot when the idea first started floating around but, if this brand new trailer is any indication, this movie is going to be non-stop fun!

A new full-length trailer for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle debuted on Wednesday and we kind of love it.  The very beginning of the new clip pays homage to the original film and gives some insight into how the magical board game became a video game.  “For two decades, it went untouched. But the game always finds a way.”  This time, it has reinvented itself as a video game, luring in a group of kids who are tasked with cleaning out the basement of their school as part of their detention.

Once sucked into the game, they are transformed into their video game avatars played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Heart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan.  Each has only three lives to spare in order to find their way back home.

In the new trailer, we also get our first glimpses of Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire) who looks to be a menacing villain from a safari to hell and Nick Jonas who looks like he just stepped out of the movie Top Gun.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is scheduled to premiere on December 20th, 2017.  Check out the description and the brand new trailer below:

“In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji.  When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.  What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji -Jumanji plays you.  They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…”
