Fan Fest Fuzzies: More Stories of Animal Rescues from Hurricane Irma and a Happy Reunion In Texas

Hurricane Irma arrived on the heels of Hurricane Harvey, and brought more destruction and chaos to families and animals across not only Texas but now also Florida.

Thousands of families and their furry family members were displaced as they struggled to survive through these massive storms.  The video below is a compilation of people performing some of the most amazing acts to help save animals who needed help during Hurricane Irma. From bringing animals as large as horses into their homes to singing to a terrified dog, and finding shelter for a family of ducks; these individuals became heroes.

Some animals, like these puppies, were flown out of Florida and are being cared for by Animal Haven Shelter located in New York City. Watch the video below to find more about these cuties and how this shelter is helping Florida shelters make room for the abandoned and rescue animals resulting from the storm.

There are many animals that were separated from their human caretakers during these events. Below is a video that documents a farmer returning back to his farm after Hurricane Harvey in Texas. In the video you can hear how choked up he gets as he finds their farm animals one by one. He and his family had to make the tough decision to leave their home quickly. The animals are clearly shaken, but knowing that they survived is such a relief.

If you feel for these helpless creatures and want to help, you can donate to one of many organizations that are focusing on these efforts. The Hand In Hand benefit event on Tuesday, September 12 raised funds for both areas recently hit by these natural disasters. You can still donate to their cause at HandInHand2017.com.
