Are you as pumped for the season 7 finale of Game of Thrones as we are? It would seem that no one is more psyched for the season finale than legendary musician Michael Bolton (no relation to Ramsay Bolton, by the way. Or, at least, we don’t think there’s a relation).
The folks at Honest Trailers put together a hilarious video which turns some of our favorite television theme songs into a retro, 80s/90s style pop song. The below video compiles some super awesome musicians putting a retro spin on the theme songs of television shows that are all eligible for Emmy nominations. The highly amusing video includes Natasha Bedingfield who sings a Perfect Strangers inspired version of a Stranger Things theme. Brian McKnight creates a Cheers inspired theme song for This Is Us and Paula Cole who sings a Dawson’s Creek inspired version of a theme song for Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. Fun Fact, Cole actually sang the original theme song for Dawson’s Creek so this was a fun little nostalgic throwback.
Bolton boldly declares that he wants to do an arrangement of his favorite show Game of Thrones despite the series not being eligible for an Emmy nod this year. When he’s told no, Bolton declares, “House Bolton does what it wants!” and the rest is an absolutely epic rendition of a performance you’ve just got to see! Check it out:
All the parodies were awesome but, by far, Bolton’s Game of Thrones song takes the cake. The finale episode is going to be the very definition of epic and will clock in at an astounding 79 minutes and 43 seconds, breaking the record for the longest episode of the entire series. Teasers for the episode promising a tense encounter at King’s Landing and perhaps the advancement of Jon Snow and Daenerys’ relationship.
We have no idea what’s going to happen next but, one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be amazing! The season finale of Game of Thrones airs this Sunday at 9 pm EST on HBO.
