Bruno Mars Donates $1 Million Dollars to Flint Michigan

In front of a sold out crowd at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, Bruno Mars made an announcement that stands as proof of him being more than just a music icon. During his set, Bruno announced that he’d be donating $1 Million dollars to Flint, Michigan to help with their water crisis.

It’s been over 1,200 days since the city had clean water. That means that for the last few years, residents have been poisoned, some dying as a result, and made incredibly ill just because they needed to cook, bathe, or take a drink with dinner. It’s hard to imagine but it’s even harder for the residents of Flint, Michigan.

So the announcement was met with warm applause and the crowd truly understood in that moment that one of their favorite celebrities cared about them enough to want to make a difference.

Bruno spoke about the donation, how important the Michigan audience is to him, and urged the crowd to make sure this never happens anywhere else again.

I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause. Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.’

We’re already massive fans of Bruno, but after this, we have to say we’re more impressed with him than ever. Not only is he incredibly talented, he’s got a good heart, and there’s not much else we could ask for in times like these, especially from a person so many young adults look up to.
