WATCH: Country Star Joe Nichols Debuts New Video for ‘Baby Got Back’ Featuring Sir Mix-a-Lot
You can say whatever you want about country music and its artists but, one thing’s for sure, they certainly have an appreciation for all different genres of music as well as a wicked sense of humor! Thanks to country music star Joe Nichols, that statement has never been so prevalent.
Nichols has been around in the business and industry for a while now and has frequently included the Sir Mix-a-Lot classic Baby Got Back in his performance sets dating back to at least 2012. Nichols pays homage to booty-bumpin’ tune but puts his own country twang spin on it. The song even appears on his brand new album Never Too Old which was released on July 28th.
Now, Nichols has released a humorous music video for the cover featuring none other than THE man himself, Sir Mix-a-Lot as a talent show judge who is being forced to listen to an endless number of auditions of acts singing the song. Eventually, after passing on a few of the acts, he comes across Nichols who performs his version and, well, you’ll just have to check out the video below to see how that all goes down:
For some added fun, back in 2015, yours truly had the pleasure of attending New York City’s first, and only, 3-day country music festival where I was able to witness, first hand and front row, Nichols performing this song live.
