CW President Talks About the Fate of ‘Supernatural’ at 2017 TCAs

Rest easy Supernatural fans, the boys are here to stay.

At the recent Television Critics Association summer press tour, President of the CW Network, Mark Pedowitz, offered up a response to the question, “when will the show come to an end?”

“I can answer the Supernatural question now. As long as the boys want to do it [Laughter from the audience] and ratings hold, Supernatural will stay on the air.”

This answer is familiar to many of the #SPNFamily because we have been hearing it for years from both Jensen and Jared themselves…

When they aren’t having fun anymore, and there is no good story left to tell, then it will be time to park Baby in the corner. Since that isn’t the case yet, we can rest easy with confirmation from the big bosses that there are still plenty of miles of asphalt for the old girl to get under her tires.

Supernatural has a lot going for it as it heads into its 13th season, and knowing that all involved with the show want to see it continue, is just the icing on the cake (or pie, if Dean has his way).

With a killer 12th season finale, a crossover with Scooby-Doo and a spin-off on the way, there are still a lot of reasons to get excited about the Winchesters and Supernatural‘s 13th season. The show has proven year after year, that is just as adaptable as some of the monsters the boys are hunting. So, is it really a surprise that the CW would want this “indestructible” series to continue on?

Supernatural returns on Thursday, October 12th at 8 p.m. on the CW.
