Kendrick Lamar Leads the 2017 MTV VMAs Nominations Announcements
Earlier this week, the MTV VMA nominations were announced via Instagram Live! Kendrick Lamar received a whopping 8 nominations, the most of any other nominee, for his first single HUMBLE off his recently released and critically acclaimed album. His 8 nominations include some big categories such as Video of the Year and Artist of the Year.
Similar to the MTV TV & Movie Awards which took place earlier this year, the MTV VMAs has ditched the gender-specific categories which now pins the likes of Lorde, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Lamar and more all against each other for Artist of the Year.
Katy Perry and the Weeknd both were honored with 5 nominations, tying each other for the second most nominations for the year.
The VMA’s will air live on Sunday, August 27th at 8 pm EST and will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. Check out the full list of nominees below and be sure to vote for your favorites in each category over at MTV.com
