‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel Sets a Release Date in 2019

Over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. made the inevitable announcement that the smash hit blockbuster film Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot was officially getting a sequel.  Fans everywhere rejoiced but were a little disappointed to find out that no further details would be shared regarding the sequel film.

On Tuesday, Warner Bros. has officially announced a release date for the upcoming film.  Clear your calendars because Wonder Woman 2 will be hitting theaters on December 13th, 2019.

There’s no official word yet that director Patty Jenkins has signed on to helm the sequel, however, she is believed to be in talks with the studio.

Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the DCEU’s next film Justice League which is set to hit theaters on November 17th.  The film also stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as the Flash.

Wonder Woman‘s massive success at the box office has breathed new life into the DCEU and has paved the way for a brighter future for upcoming films such as Justice League and  Aquaman (set to be released on December 21, 2018).  Even though it’s over 2 years away, we can’t wait to see the next installment of Diana’s adventures outside of Themyscira.
