‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ has Officially Wrapped Filming

And that’s a wrap!  Director J.A. Bayona announced on Sunday via Twitter that filming for the upcoming Jurassic World sequel had officially been completed.

Bayona commemorated the completion of filming with a message thanking everyone involved with the film and also included a super fun GIF of film star Chris Pratt doing a dance of celebration, perhaps?  We would love to know what was actually happening when the footage for this GIF was captured.  Check out the tweet below:

Details associated with the film’s plot have been kept under wraps, however for months now, Bayona and the cast have been teasing a much darker feel than we have seen in the previous installments.  Last year, in an interview with Agencia EFE, Bayona said:

“Obviously when you have Chris Pratt it will also be very funny. But it will be darker. It is a second step in a trilogy, and the second step is always dark as in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ or ‘Wrath of Khan’ which are the examples you always get.

The film takes the story where it has never been before. To me, it surprised me. We are going to places where the saga has never been before, and at the same time, we are paying tribute to the franchise. We will take it a step further. There are things that will happen that people are not expecting and they really are shocking.”

We can’t wait to see where Bayona takes the latest installment in the Jurassic World franchise.

In addition to Pratt, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, and of course, BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum.

The film is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
