Wow.

Sub-Zero will be the next to join the Injustice 2 roster. Hailing from Mortal Combat, Sub-Zero commands some incredible ice skills, and that remains true as he transfers into the DC Universe. He’s going to give Captain Cold and Mr. Freeze a run for their money.

I was a little worried at first that we were going to get another ice-based character, but his moves are so unique that I am now really excited. Similar in some ways to Killer Frost from the first Injustice, Sub-Zero can create weapons out of ice to attack the opponent, but he is also a martial artist, delivering some kick and punch combos. Some of Sub-Zero’s signature Mortal Combat moves are present, such as shooting ice and using a frozen surface in order to move quickly. The coolest thing is Sub-Zero’s “ice clones.” They can act as a weapon, a shield, or can freeze your opponent when they come in contact with them. It’s super awesome and something that I have never seen before.

Sub-Zero’s super move freezes the opponent in mid-air. They are then struck by an ice hammer, thrown around, shot with ice pellets, before finally being smashed into the ground. It will definitely deal some major damage.

It looks like it’s going to take a lot of finesse in order to maximize Sub-Zero’s skill set, but it will be well worth it.

Sub-Zero is set to join Injustice 2 July 11th.
