Foo Fighters Reveal Fall Tour, New Album ‘Concrete and Gold’

Hey Foo Fighters fans, are you ready to rock?! Last month, Foo Fighters unveiled a brand new song at the Acoustic 4-A-Cure Benefit Concert. This month, the band announced details of a brand new album and tour kicking off later this year.

On September 15th, the Foo Fighters will release their 9th album, Concrete and Gold, which is available to pre-order on digital, CD and vinyl, through multiple platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and more.  The band also has the new album available as part of some pretty cool merchandise bundles which include Foo Fighters t-shirts, socks, and Russian nesting dolls.

Foo Fighters Reveal Fall Tour, New Album 'Concrete and Gold'

Concrete and Gold is the band’s first album since the 2014 release of Sonic Highways. They worked pop producer Greg Kurstin, who has worked with some pretty huge names in the pop world such as Adele, Sia, and Pink.  It might seem odd for a rock band like the Foo Fighters to work with a pop producer but, band frontman Dave Grohl said he thought it would be a creative challenge to work with Kurstin.  Grohl told Rolling Stone:

“So I think maybe Greg is the guy that we ask to be our producer because he’s never made a heavy rock record before and we’ve never worked with a pop producer.  Our noise and Greg’s big brain and all of his sophisticated arrangements and composition.”

In addition to announcing their new music, the band has also announced plans for a new set of fall tour dates which also includes a pretty huge and awesome one-day festival. The Foo Fighters will kick off their fall dates starting on October 12th with a previously announced and completely sold out show in Washington DC.  New dates for the tour start on October 14th in Richmond, VA.  Capital One Pre-sale for tickets will start on Monday, June 26th

During their fall tour, the Foo Fighters will be headlining Cal Jam 17, a one-day festival in Glen Helen Regional Park.  The festival has a kick ass line up also including Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Liam Gallagher, the Kills, Royal Blood, Japandroids, Wolf Alice and Bob Mould. Tickets are on sale now through the Cal Jam 17 website.
