First-Ever ‘Star Wars’ Film Concert Series Coming to New York Featuring the Philharmonic
When you listen to the radio or when you stream music, sure it sounds pretty good and all but, nothing compares to seeing and hearing your favorite bands perform live! It’s basically the same thing with films. Sure, it’s great to watch your favorite movies on demand or on DVD at home but, everything just sounds better in the theater. The only thing that could be better than watching a film up on the big screen in the theater would be watching a film up on the big screen in the theater along with a live musical accompaniment. Can you imagine what that would be like?
If you’re a Star Wars fan, you won’t have to imagine for much longer. You can actually experience this epic event in New York City this fall. At special screenings of the films A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens, The New York Philharmonic will be performing the scores which John Williams’ so beautifully created along with the screening of the movies.
The screenings will take place at Lincoln Center and will be shown on the following dates:
- A New Hope – September 15-16
- The Empire Strikes Back – September 26-28
- Return of the Jedi – October 4-5
- The Force Awakens – October 6-7
The event is being called the first-ever live performance of the musical score played along with a film screening. This is definitely something that any mega Star Wars fan is not going to want to miss. Tickets are already on sale. Some shows have sold out but, if you are going to be in the New York area, you can purchase your tickets through the New York Philharmonic Website.
