Chris Evans talks his Contract Extension with Marvel
Chris Evans is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having portrayed multiple comic book characters. His most notable performance, is that of Captain America.
For a good while, especially during the filming of Captain America: Civil War, many fans feared that the time for our star-spangled man with a plan would be coming to an end. Thankfully, Evans decided to extend his contract a little longer, so that he could wrap up the Avengers: Infinity Wars series.
“I had six films in my Marvel contract, so I could have said after the third Avengers I was done, but they wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter. They said they had so many other characters to fit in – Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man – and couldn’t get them all into one movie.” Evans said, in an interview with the Telegraph.
Despite this pleasant news is great to Marvel fans, giving us a little more ‘Cap’ in our lives, he wouldn’t reveal any eventual fates that his character would be facing. It’s almost devastating to image the Marvel Universe without Steve Rogers in it, especially since he is one that many fans have found themselves growing close to.
“I’ve been on sets where you get a vibe that everyone’s making a different movie,” Evans said. “The director one, the actors another, the producers another one still. Marvel has a way of ensuring that on the day filming begins, everyone is making the same meal.”
Avengers: Infinity War is currently filming, with a release date of May 4, 2018.
