Tom Holland Brings Spider-Man to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

When a celebrity takes on the role of a superhero, usually it’s for television and film. Playing our favorites on screen and giving them a different breath of life than exist in the comics. From Iron Man to Captain America and Batman to Thor, it’s a great time to be fans of superheroes in general. However, the focus right now is on Spider-Man, as it rightfully should be, and Tom Holland did something recently that brought tears to our eyes.

Tom put on his Spider-Man gear and took the day off from fighting evil to visit some children who reside at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. When kids are in the hospital for extended periods of time, they often feel like they’re missing out on everything going on around them; so a visit from their favorite superhero was something extra to make them feel just a little bit better.

Tom got into character before walking into the rooms and speaking to each of the children. He removed his mask so he could show them cool features and talk to them about all the awesome things he can do. From web-slinging to scaling buildings, the kids were curious and he was happy to create the perfect stories for them to dive into.

While Tom may have been ‘playing pretend’ as a superhero for the day, what he was doing for those kids was actually a gesture done from the heart, and that’s where anyone truly gets their superpowers from anyway. He took an opportunity to make the lives of children better and he ran with it. Not only did he spend time with them, he signed items for them to keep, met members of their families and brought a general sense of happiness to the hospital; and there can never be too much goodness.
