Becoming a superhero for a film is not an easy task. Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot went through intense physical and martial arts training for 6 months before filming even began. Sure, there’s a lot of “movie magic” that makes actors seem truly superhuman but, there’s also a lot of true physical ability needed in order to pull off the role.
It took Gadot six full months of training to become Wonder Woman however, Conan O’Brien thinks he can do the same in 35 minutes. O’Brien joined Gadot, along with her trainer Ruda, on a Warner Bros. sound stage in order to go through some of the basic training she had to endure for the film.
Gadot and Ruda first assessed O’Brien’s physical condition and strength and, let’s just say their findings weren’t very favorable. From there, they taught O’Brien how to kick, which turned into a kick line version of Hava Nagila and how to properly defend against a sword battle.
Things got real though when O’Brien started to get into the Wonder Woman character, using his arm guards to deflect bullets before getting unfortunately cocky about it. Next, it was on boxing training where Gadot just rips into him. This, of course, shakes O’Brien’s nerves and he needs to boost his confidence. O’Brien needed a moment. He steps off stage for a moment before returning in a hilarious Conan superhero costume.
The last stage of his training was horse riding however, since they couldn’t get a course on the sound stage, O’Brien brought the next best thing, a mechanical bull.
Gadot pretty much can’t stop laughing through the entire video at O’Brien’s ridiculousness. Check out the hilarious video below.
Wonder Woman hit theaters on June 2nd.
