Zac Efron Cast as one of the Most Terrifying Serial Killers Ever

Fans of Zac Efron are about to see the star take on a role that’s unlike anything he’s done in his career so far. While he’s a talented actor, and we’ve seen some emotion in his films; we’ve never seen him channel the kind of twisted evil he’ll need when he stars in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. If the title wasn’t enough to grab your interest, the role he’ll be playing definitely will.

Zac Efron will play infamous serial killer, Ted Bundy, in the film told from the perspective of Ted’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer. If you’re a true crime fanatic, you’ll remember that Elizabeth is the one who ultimately turned Ted in, even after years of denying the claims made against him.

In July of 1974, she tried to turn him into police, as a matter of fact – she tried three times before they took her seriously. Even through the suspicions, the items she found that she couldn’t explain, and hearing that Ted had cheated on her – she stayed with him. Many people found this behavior odd and wondered why she’d stick with a man, and allow him sanctuary in her home when he was that kind of evil.

It’s hard to think about what could have been prevented had police given her reports the time and effort they deserved when she first made them in 1974. However, those reports did go unexamined and Ted was able to commit more crimes and to take more lives. Ted was finally tried and convicted of the sexual assault and murder of over 30 women. He was executed in Florida in 1989

The Hollywood Reporter says Joe Berlinger will direct the film, and it’s not the first of this kind for Joe. He’s also credited on the Paradise Lost: The Child Murders which focus on the West Memphis Three – three men who were convicted but later found innocent of the murders of three eight-year-olds.

Filming is set to begin in October of this year. We’re looking forward to seeing Zac in a role unlike any we’ve seen him in before and we’re very curious to see how he’ll portray Ted Bundy.
