Jordan Peele, Misha Green and Bad Robot Teaming for HBO’s ‘Lovecraft Country’
Jordan Peele is wasting no time getting behind the camera again.
Following the huge success of his directorial debut, Get Out, Variety reports that Peele is set to executive produce Lovecraft Country (through Monkeypaw Productions) which has been ordered straight-to-series at HBO. Based on the book by the same name, it follows 25-year-old Atticus Black, who joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. However, they must survive and overcome both the racist terrors of White America and the malevolent spirits that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback first.
Underground co-creator and showrunner Misha Green is set to write and executive produce the series as well, along with J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson executive producing through Bad Robot. No release date has yet been set.
