Tom Brady Named ‘Madden 2018’ Cover Athlete

Tom Brady is by far one of the most well-known quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. You may not be his biggest fan, but his accomplishments are definitely quite impressive.

The 39-year-old Quarter back for the New England Patriots has won a total of five Super bowls, five of which he was named MVP.

Recently, it was officially announced that Tom Brady has been named the cover athlete for EA Sports Madden NFL 18.

Check out the cover below:

This marks the first time in Madden NFL history that teammates have been on the cover in back-to-back years. Last year, tight end Rob Gronkowski, from the New England Patriots earned a spot on the cover.

While it is a great honor, one needs to be warned of the rumored ‘Madden Curse’. I remember when Brett Favre was on the cover, and he wound up breaking his thumb halfway through the season. For some reason, whenever an athlete is selected for the cover they are ‘cursed’. Either they wind up getting injured or perform poorly that said year.

But is the multi Pro Bowl champ at all concerned about said ‘curse’? Nope, not in the slightest.

“The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me,” said Brady. “Especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I’m not one to believe in curses, so I’m ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn’t stand a chance!!!”

Madden NFL 18 will be available August 25 for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
