WATCH: Chris Pine Explains He’s Not Evans, Hemsworth, or Pratt in SNL Opening Monologue

There is apparently a lot of confusion happening lately in the Hollywood superhero world.  With four different Chrises to choose from, it can be easy to mistake one for the other or for the other one!

In Chris Pine’s Saturday Night Live opening monologue, he begins by explaining that it’s his first time hosting the show.  The last time he was at SNL, he had a small, walk on role during a Weekend Update sketch in order to promote Star Trek.  He, then, went on to announce to the audience that he has a new movie currently in theaters, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to which the audience applauded and cheered, effectively walking right into Pine’s opening joke.  The joke, in fact, was the on the audience because, as it turns out, Chris Pine is not actually in that movie.  That’s Chris Pratt.

In an effort to prove his identity and individuality from Pratt, Pine brought out Leslie Jones, an apparent Chris Pine Super Fan, who has seen all of his movies.  Well, here’s how that turned out for Pine.  Leslie Jones took a selfie with the actor, posting it to social media with the caption, “Just met Thor!!!!”:

Clearly, a bigger issue than we realize, Pine felt his frustrations would best be expressed through song, which, he hopes, will also help educate those who confuse the many superhero Chrises in the world.
