Ryan Murphy Shares a Terrifying Concept Sketch for Upcoming ‘American Horror Story’ Season 7

You just never know what you are going to get when it comes to a new season of American Horror Story.  The creative genius that is the series co-creator Ryan Murphy knows no boundaries and certainly has no qualms about going to dark and disturbing places.  Murphy is also famous (or infamous) for keeping fans completely in the dark regarding the theme for upcoming seasons.

Last season, fans speculated for months over what the potential theme could be.  Murphy and the AHS team released numerous promotional teasers and posters all meant to misdirect the fans, confusing us so we had no idea which direction we were going.  Eventually, when the theme of American Horror Story: Roanoke was made public, fans, myself included, were delighted by the theme only to find the season fell short of the expectation.  While Roanoke was the theme, the actual theme of last season was, in fact, misdirection.  No spoilers here for folks who want to binge watch the series but, there’s a twist in the season and, it kind of ruined it for me.  Really, I could go on and on about my feelings about last season but, let’s focus on this upcoming season 7 of the series.

Murphy has already announced that season 7 of American Horror Story will be set to focus around a Presidential election, particularly the most recent 2017 election. We already know that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are confirmed to return however, their roles remain unknown though, Peters has recently called dibs on playing the role of Ivanka Trump.  Additional confirmed castings include Scream Queens star Billie Lourd and Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner.

In true Ryan Murphy fashion, not much else is known about the upcoming season however, on Friday, Murphy gave a potential little tease into some of the horrors that await fans in season 7.  On Murphy’s brand new Instagram account, he tweeted a ungodly and terrifying concept sketch of what appears to be a cross between season 4’s Twisty the Clown and one of the freaky pink elephants from Disney’s Dumbo if that pink elephant was living in the zombie apocalypse and, in fact, was a zombie.  Check out the freaky sketch below:

With Murphy already confirming that season 7 will focus on the election, it’s pretty easy to see the connection between this scary elephant looking type thing and the symbol of the Republican Party, the elephant.  The symbolism has never been more clear, Ryan.  We hear you!

What do you think of Ryan Murphy’s concept tease for the upcoming season 7 of American Horror Story?  Do you plan on watching this season?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!

And, just for fun and for those who might think I’m crazy suggesting the sketch looks like Twisty and pink elephants combined into one, check out the side by side comparison of those two and then take another look at Murphy’s sketch.  Twisty’s mouth?  Pink elephant’s creepy, black eyes?  Am I right?  Seriously.  I can’t be the only one who see this resemblance!  Am I crazy?  Tell us your thoughts on whether or not I’m crazy in the comment section below!
