Singer Loretta Lynn Hospitalized After Suffering Stroke

News is pouring in within the last few hours from Nashville, Tennessee. A publicist for the country music legend has stated that she has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

It was confirmed today by Maria Malta that Lynn, 85, had been admitted into a Nashville hospital the night before. She was at her Hurricane Mills home when the stroke came on.

Information from the singer’s website states that she was responsive and expected to make a full recovery. It goes on the say that doctors have advised her to stay off the road during her recuperation and any upcoming shows that were schedule will be postponed.

Loretta Lynn was born in Kentucky to a coal miner and his wife, hence the song Coal Miner’s Daughter. Other hits include The Pill, One’s on the Way, and You Ain’t Woman Enough. Many of her songs are biographical based on her experiences and background.

In 2005, Lynn won 2 Grammy Awards for her album Van Lear Rose.

Although she recently suffered a fall which she had surgery for, she continues to tour and record on a regular basis. A new album is set to be released this August.
