Reflections on the Force: May the 4th Be With You!
Once again, it is Star Wars day. So, first and foremost, May the 4th be with you!
The saga of the Skywalkers and our understand of the Star Wars galaxy continues to expand and, of course, the saga will continue in the forthcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi aka Episode VIII. One of the many themes that is “discussed” throughout the films (and other media) is family. For many in the nerd/geek community, family can mean many things to many people of many different backgrounds. However, no matter how diverse the background, we all unite around the same idea of family and bond with our friends and family over Star Wars: that whether it is your family or friends that are like family, it is important to always believe in each other and help each other, even if they are on the “dark side.”
There are many great deals to be found online for various Star Wars merchandise (such as those listed on StarWars.com). Keep an eye out on social media as giveaways and contests are likely from various retailers. And of course, watch a few Star Wars movies, TV shows, and perhaps read some comics and books. Additionally, TBS will be broadcasting the original six movies in sequential order starting at 6:40AM EST (Yes, we’re starting with the canon movie Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (aka Episode I)). As for me, I plan on watching Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: A New Hope (aka Episode IV or Star Wars) back to back.
How will you be celebrating Star Wars day? What cool Star Wars stuff are you hoping to find in your personal docking bay 94?
Greg was born and
raised with a love for wanting to
understand how life, the universe and
everything worked, so you can say his mind would always want to be in
a galaxy
far, far away. He also has a love for most things nerdy, including Ghostbusters,
Lord of the
Rings, Marvel, DC Comics and Harry Potter. He is very excited to
have found a “home” to express his various
views on Star Wars and everything
else that can be found on Jakku. Hope it earns him more than one quarter
portion. Darn you Unkar Plutt!
