Kim Kardashian goes ‘Super Clean’ with Met Gala Look

Kim Kardashian has been laying low since her traumatizing Paris robbery, and with good reason. When she explains what happened on that terrifying night, she says that she felt like she was going to die. She just ‘knew’ it was going to happen. She was trying to make peace with being away from her family and hoping that they’d remember her. Hearing her speak about the situation is absolutely heartbreaking.

On the Ellen DeGeneres show recently, Kim spoke about how the entire ordeal has changed her. Before, she was living lavishly and for herself. She was constantly draped in expensive clothing, jewelry, and showed off a lot of what she had. She didn’t realize it at the time but she was making herself a target.

The Met Gala was her first big appearance since the robbery and she kept in line with her new way of life. Some people wondered if she would continue living under the radar or not, but the truth is, her entire demeanor has changed since the robbery, and she looks at it like it was something meant to happen to her. That attitude alone is admirable.

Kim’s friend and makeup artist Dedivanovic spoke to PeopleStyle about her look for the Met Gala and what inspired it.

She had on a really clean Vivienne Westwood gown, and her vibe has been super clean and relaxed recently and she wanted to take that into the Met Ball as well, since that’s how she’s feeling right now, and I am as well, so I thought it would be a perfect look for the evening and the perfect vibe.

He went on to say how they channeled the Met Gala’s theme with her beauty look as well.

It was all about skin. Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo does a lot of edgy and editorial things, but she also sometimes does truly beautiful clean skin, so I was inspired by that. I wanted her to look like classic Kim. The eyes were contoured, they were completely matte. We didn’t do any shimmers on the eyes, so it was all about lashes and skin and matte colors.

Kim did look absolutely stunning in white, with striking eyes and very beautiful skin. We were massive fans of her Met Gala look.
