There is such a thing as a Dragon Frappuccino

A little over a week ago, the world went through unicorn hysteria!  Starbucks released a limited addition stroke of marketing genius when the company announced that the special and illusive Unicorn Frappuccino would only be available in stores for a few days.  The magical drink took over social media as everyone ran out to get a taste of frozen drink history.

While reviews of drink itself varied from deliciousness to folks saying it tasted like overly sweetened medicine, one thing seemed to remain consistent; Starbucks barista’s claimed the drink was ridiculously difficult to make and had difficulty keeping up with the demand.

Under extreme pressure from the hype caused by the Unicorn Frappuccino, many locations quickly ran out of the ingredients needed to make the drink or simply had difficulty concocting the complicated recipe.  Thus, the legend of a new mythologically name drink was born.  One resourceful barista quickly whipped up an idea to help calm the Unicorn seeking crowds by creating something called a Dragon Frappuccino.

Now, we all love unicorns but, how much cooler does a Dragon Frappuccino sound?  Am I right?  Once word of the newly created drink got out, others began to follow suit in creating this green and reportedly more delicious drink.

The Dragon Frappuccino is rumored to be less sweet than the Unicorn Frapp and, most importantly, is MUCH easier to make!  In most cases, the Dragon Frappuccino recipe appears to consist of a Green Tea Frappuccino topped off with a berry swirl in the middle.  Simple enough, right?

While the drink is not on the official Starbucks menu, the company does offer several different options of customization for their main menu drinks so, it’s not unfathomable that this Dragon Frappuccino can be ordered at any Starbucks location though, if you plan on ordering one, be ready to explain exactly what you want.  In fact, the drink gained so much popularity that the folks over at Buzzfeed went out to do some taste tests.  Check out the video below!
