Tyra Banks Confirms ‘Life-Size 2’ is Happening

Okay, let’s get real for a second. Most of us have watched ‘Life-Size’ – even if we don’t openly admit it, or use it as a conversation starter. The film, released in 2000, is a comedy-drama-fantasy that stars Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks. The story is sweet, it’s almost tooth-rottingly sweet at points, but it was also one of those coming of age movies that, even if you didn’t directly relate to it, you related to it.

So a girl named Casey lost her mom, and is also at that age where figuring yourself out is hard; not that any age is exactly the easiest for that. However, it’s especially hard for her – especially as she’s a tomboy on her school’s football team and one of the guys who plays alongside her isn’t her biggest fan. There’s that obvious father/daughter conversation barrier happening, and when it all gets to be too much – she looks for a spell to conjure up and bring her mom back.

Casey starts the process, gathering some of her mom’s old items, and in the middle of it all, gets a doll from her dad’s co-worker (who is also a bit, smitten by him) as a gift. The doll is named Eve and before the whole resurrection is set to begin, Eve’s hair ends up on her mom’s hairbrush. You know what happens next. Casey doesn’t get her mom back, she gets a living, breathing, version of what was a barbie just hours before.

Tyra Banks Confirms 'Life-Size 2' is Happening

Casey is obviously distraught and wants nothing more than to reverse the ‘spell’ but this is impossible. Now, there’s an unhappy Casey and a woman who’s not even sure how to walk properly. She is fierce though, and she’s sort of the opposite (so you think) of who Casey is. Through the film, they learn about one another and then realize what they can learn from each other and sooner than she realizes herself, Casey starts to enjoy Eve’s friendship. The movie ends on a positive note for everyone, and there’s even a dance number.

Not many fans expected to hear any new news about ‘Life-Size’ quite possibly, ever. However, Tyra Banks took to Twitter today to announce that a part 2 of the film was happening, and she’d be starring in it.

So, color us excited.

A press release revealed the plot of this film, which is reminiscent of the first one. Eve is once again using her star power to bring happiness and life back to someone who lost sight of it.

In the sequel, everyone’s favorite doll Eve has grown up. This time, she’s magically awoken to help a young woman learn to live and love again. And along the way, Eve herself will experience the ups and downs of real life in a fun, edgy, modern Christmas movie.

The film will premiere during Freeform’s 25 days of Christmas, so we won’t have to wait too long to see it. What could be better than one of our guilty pleasure films making a resurgence just in time for Christmas?
