“The Big Bang Theory” get Renewed, but with some Pay Cuts
Remember when we all thought that The Big Bang Theory was going to end with season 10? Yeah, good times.
That’s right! BBT has been renewed for not one but TWO more seasons! And that’s not even the biggest news I have to tell.
Five of the stars: Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg are reportedly taking pays cuts. Gasp! Why?
The answer is actually really sweet.
They are all taking a $100,000 cut per episode (relax they make $1 million) so that the salaries of cast mates Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch would increase. Currently, both make about $200,000 an episode.
Although this frees up a significant amount of money for the actors to split, there is still a huge pay gap between Rauch and Bialik and the original five.
Of course, contracts are still being negotiated, but things are looking up for the seemingly endless series.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8:00 on CBS.
