COLONY Recap of episode 205 ‘Company Man’

Colony brought more twists and turns this week. The cast is growing and the storylines are bursting at the seams.

Will becomes a ‘Company Man’

It’s time for Will to go back to work. Staying away would be too suspicious. He tells Katie he needs to talk to Jennifer.

Wait, where is Jennifer? No one gives Will a straight answer. Shady new partner Detective Burke suggests she may be at the General Surveillance Annex. Co-worker Betsy claims she really does not know.

Will and Burke visit Jennifer’s house. Will searches the house and sees no trace of what happened to her. Burke says she was not adaptable and did not have the constitution for the job.

So where is she? Is she dead or alive?

Back at home Will and Katie take Minnie for yet another walk so they can talk privately without the watchful eye of the surveillance cameras. Katie tells Will that a messenger dropped something off for him. He returns to his closet to find a set of sleek suits with Authority lapel pins. Now Will and Burke will look like a matching set.

Mama Bear

Katie plays mama bear protecting her cubs several times this episode.

When she learns that Charlie has gone for a walk, she panics and runs out to find him. She is also none too pleased that Lindsey refused to take responsibility for his well-being since he is not her student.

Katie finds Charlie walking home with some stolen goods he thinks the family needs. Katie throws them out and tells him it does not work that way here and that someone is always watching. (But somehow the chips do make their way back to the house anyway!)

Later Katie finds Charlie exiled to his room by Lindsey. While Lindsey used the fact that he is not her student as an excuse to not look after him, she did not take this into account when she banished him to his room for being disruptive to Gracie’s studies. Katie is livid. Lindsay calls Charlie a “poison”. Katie angrily throws Lindsey out of the house. Then she is reminded of the surveillance camera.

Katie also does what she thinks necessary to help Bram as well. She goes to Maddie’s house where she and Nolan are hosting a party. Katie asks Maddie to help in releasing Bram. Maddie says she cannot but shows her a spreadsheet that indicates Bram is still at the labor camp.

Maddie is interrupted to go meet Nolan for his toast. She tells Katie she will be back to the office in a few minutes. Katie steals a jump drive and downloads the spreadsheet before Maddie’s return.

Did Maddie purposefully give Katie opportunity to steal the intel or did she not even think of that possibility?

Working both sides

Camp Commander Snyder intervenes on Bram’s behalf enough times to make Maya take notice. She confronts Bram about being a mole. He does not deny it, but says he can use his relationship with Snyder to help Maya’s cause.

Someone in the camp is trying to build a bomb. Jenkins is out for blood killing two prisoners instead of interrogating them about their involvement. An important shipment is arriving to the camp. Things could be getting very dicey for Bram as he tries to play both sides.

Underground

Broussard and the team from APIS have baited a drone with the communications device they stole from the VIP. They are able to mount a camera on the drone and get ongoing footage.

They are very curious about the audio on the footage. Broussard goes above ground to meet with fellow operative Hennessy about finding an audio engineer. He also visits a lady friend.

There appears to be a separate Resistance cell taking bold actions in the Bloc, such as the massacre at the recruiting facility last week. Hennessy says they are “a closed loop”. Will also notices that terrorist activity is occurring that does not fit Broussard’s profile.

Who is this other group? Could they be related to Maya’s efforts? Presumably they are also the ones who also blow up part of the Homeland office in episode. There certainly seems to be a lot of firepower with in this group.

The questions keep coming on Colony as the story progresses. Tune in next Thursday for the next installment of the occupation drama.
