TSA: Sorry Negan, Lucille’s Got to be Checked (No Exceptions)!

If there is one thing that everyone looks forward to, it is definitely a nice vacation. The sandy beach, the thrilling rides… the breakfast in bed; pure paradise, right? But there is one part of vacation that some people tend to despise, and that is the journey there. More specifically, the flying part. We all know that flying can be a hassle. All of those long lines, security checks, ticket issues… airports can really dampen your mood.

For many people, double-checking carry-on bags is just a part of life when it comes to TSA checkpoints to ensure they don’t get flagged for any inappropriate items. This year, it seems like some rule breakers want to give TSA agents a real run for their money… and it is all thanks to The Walking Dead.

About a month ago, the official TSA Instagram and Twitter posted a photo of a confiscated carry-on item they took from a fan of The Walking Dead. The passenger had tried to bring a replica of Negan’s bat Lucille onto his flight in Atlanta.

A similar photo was also uploaded to TSA’s official Instagram with the following caption:

This was very similair to a case with a Game of Thrones fan, who thought they could get away with bringing a bladed finger weapon onto their flight without checking it. “We’re pretty sure this isn’t a letter opener. A bladed dragon claw perhaps??? Whatever it is, it should be packed in checked baggage. It was discovered in a carry-on bag at Atlanta (ATL).”

Other fandoms were also guilty of overlooking TSA’s rules for carry-on items. In Boise, one passenger had their Sai swords confiscated, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were no doubt horrified by the travel breach.

The Walking Dead returns for the second half of Season 7 on February 12, 2016.
