Norman Reedus shares Chloe Bennet’s charity t-shirt drive

Tis the season to be charitable and many of our favorite celebrities have been finding ways to start paying it forward and contributing to various initiatives and organizations across the world.  While the charities may differ, the goals are similar, they’re trying to make a difference in the lives of any person or group of people in need – no matter what it takes.

Today, Norman Reedus joined that line of celebrities when he tweeted a link for a t-shirt drive by Chloe Bennet, who plays Skye on Agents of Shield, with a simple – but incredible – illustration on the front underneath the phrase ‘fight like a girl’.  The link says that 100% of the proceeds goes to support Community Empowerment which helps finance medical clinics in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

In October, the Dominican Republic and Haiti were hit by Hurricane Matthew which changed the way of life for those living in the Caribbean. Haiti, an already impoverished country was hit and sustained immeasurable damage to homes, medical clinics, and ways that existed for people to make a living. The winds raged at over 140 mph and the rubble left at the end of the storm was devastating, it set the country back in a way that they weren’t prepared for and will, quite honestly, have a hard time recovering from.

The Dominican Republic suffered very similar losses as the hurricane left a path of destruction in its wake there as well. Landslides destroyed the country, streets and homes were flooded, medical clinics and supplies were ruined and lives were lost leaving tragedy on the horizon.

Most of us reading this in the comfort of our own homes heard of the damage and the wreckage due to Hurricane Matthew but were unsure of ways to help, Chloe Bennet took matters into her own hands and found a way that we can all contribute and there’s no better time to do so than right now.

The campaign runs through December 1st and items are expected to begin shipping on December 17th. So far over 300 shirts have been sold; you also have the option to order a jumper or a tank top so there’s something for everyone.

Chloe Tweeted the link to her 485K followers on November 17th and Norman shared the link today with his 3.17 million so the drive is reaching millions all across the world and hopefully fans of both celebrities are encouraged to purchase a shirt and use this season of giving to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

Chloe asked her Instagram followers to send her photos of themselves in the shirts or sweaters once they arrive so make sure to tag her in your selfies!

If you’re interested in being part of this drive, you can find the t-shirt here, and be sure to keep a look out on our site for more charitable celebrities and ways you can make this season a little bit brighter for those in need.
