Early Reviews For ‘Doctor Strange’ Praise The Film
Apart from casting, Marvel has made sure that everything about its upcoming film Doctor Strange is kept secret, especially the plot, which is still confusing to many fans. However, early reviews from one of its first screenings have nothing but good things to say about it.
They all highly praise the performances of Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Mads Mikkelsen as the villain as well as the visual effects. Nuke The Fridge‘s Louis Love called it “a very good origins story,” and said that Cumberbatch “brings the comic character to life!” Another press member, The Daily Beast‘s Jen Yamato joked that “maybe it’s best viewed on mushrooms,” while Mashable‘s Josh Spoockey said it “makes Harry Potter look like parlour tricks.”
Collider‘s Steven Weintraub and The Wrap‘s Umberto Gonzalez took it a step higher and called the film “spellbinding,” while Weintraub said it’s “unlike anything Marvel’s ever done.”
Doctor Strange opens on November 4th and is expected to earn between $60 and $75 million dollars.
