Fantastic Beasts Series Expanded to Five Films

At a Warner Bros. fan event in London on Thursday, J.K. Rowling announced that the Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them series would encompass five films instead of the original three. Rowling states that the intention was always to do several films and had set the trilogy as a placeholder. Now that she has finished plotting the direction of the series, there will be five films.

Also at the fan event, director David Yates, who directed the final four Harry Potter films and will direct the first two Fantastic Beasts, teased that the second film will take place in another global capital city, not New York city like the first. This is exciting news because we will get to see more of the wizarding community.

Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them opens November 17. You can check out the final trailer for the film below.
