DreamWorks Animation and Netflix Announce Season 2 Premiere Date for ‘Voltron Legendary Defender’ at New York Comic Con

Friday at New York Comic Con, fans were treated to an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming second season of the DreamWorks and Netflix animated series, Voltron Legendary Defender.

At the Voltron panel, the cast and crew of the series screened a full episode from the upcoming season and then participated in a Q&A session.  In addition to executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery and story editor Tim Hedrick, voice actors Jeremy Shada (Lance) and Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) were on hand for the event.

The panel assured fans that there will be a lot of action and fun in store for Season 2 as well as some surprises.  The panel teased some guest voice talent such as Weird Al as well as some details about the characters.  Is Pidge a hoarder?  What happens when Hunk and Lance crash land on an underwater planet?

The biggest news to come from the panel is the premiere date for Season 2.  Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out what happens after the cliffhanger ending of Season 1.  The second season of Voltron Legendary Defender will premiere on Netflix on January 20, 2017.

Check out the trailer below for Season 2 which was released earlier this week.  Are you “ready to form?”
