‘Throwback Thursday’: Sailor Moon
Happy ‘Throwback Thursday’ everyone! I’m here with another fun and adventurous TV series, the one and only, Sailor Moon!
Sailor Moon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. The series follows the adventures of a young schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino (translated in America as Serena) as she transforms into the titular character to search for a magical artifact called the Legendary Silver Crystal. During her journey, she leads a diverse group of comrades, called the Sailor Scouts. At her side, is her trusty cat, Luna.
The 18 manga volumes were eventually adapted into an anime series and was broadcast from 1992 to 1997 in Japan over the course of five seasons along with three feature films, a television special, and three short films produced during the same period. A live-action television adaptation titled Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon aired from 2003 to 2004.
Check out the theme song for this TV series below! I still find myself rocking out to this one!!
