Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Andrew Lincoln Come Together to Grant Wishes

The Make A Wish foundation helps children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions in an effort to bring joy and a sense of hope to lift their spirits. The foundation began with the wish of Chris Greicius, a 7-year-old who was likely going to die of leukemia.  Chris’ biggest wish was to become a police officer and ‘catch bad guys’ with U.S. Customs Agent Tommy Austin.  Within days, Tommy drew in multiple officers for help and Chris was able to live out his wish and become an officer and it changed the lives of everyone there that day.  Chris passed away just days after receiving his wish, with an officer uniform and wings beside him but his single wish went on to change the lives of people all around the world, and it continues to today.

Make A Wish now grants a wish just about every 35 minutes, a staff working tirelessly to help make the dreams of children come true, and a lot of these dreams call on the help of other people too.  From superheroes and zombie fighters to policemen and musicians – many children wish to meet the people they spend so much of their time looking up to.  Most of these kids are bedridden, or cut off from most of the world due to weak immune systems, among other reasons, and spend a lot of time looking at comics, watching television and film, and hearing about their own local heroes on the news.  For these reasons, anyone can become a larger than life figure to a child in need, and the joy they bring to the children whose wishes they help grant is indescribable.

Recently; Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Nick Simmons came together to bring to life the wish of two young girls and they ended up with so much more than she anticipated when they made their way to Atlanta.  Alexis and Katielee got to hang out with Norman, Andrew, and Jeffrey and what originally was planned to be a visit lasting around an hour ended up being a nearly all day affair full of fun, laughter, and freedom from the struggles they face daily.

The group spent their afternoon at Dave and Busters where they enjoyed arcade games and delicious food throughout the afternoon.

As the day went on, the group went from being strangers to friends and the connection they had was obvious in every single photo.  The guys dedicated their time, emotions, and spirits to make these wishes come true and the girls weren’t the only ones who benefited from this meeting.  For as much as Norman, Andrew, and Jeffrey inspire them, Katielee and Alexis did some inspiring of their own.  It was easy to see their strength through the photographs of them spending their afternoon with their favorite people, and their smiles were miles wide.

It’s amazing seeing people with the world at their feet being unaffected by the fame and fortune and wanting to give back to the fans who make it all possible; and Norman, Andrew, and Jeffrey absolutely embraced that.  Make A Wish relies on the kindness of those who donate but also the willingness of anyone called upon to spend time with the children they inspire.
